Becoming a veterinarian is not something I’ve wanted since I was a young kid, contrary to what feels like the standard in this industry. If it weren’t for a casual “I could see you being a vet” comment told to me near the end of high school, I would very likely not be celebrating my graduation.

Ever since deciding veterinary medicine is the route I wanted to pursue, I didn’t falter. From my first job as a kennel attendant, to working on a cow-calf farm, to the long hours studying, to signing the contract to be an associate veterinarian, I can’t imagine myself doing anything else.

Although my grit and stubbornness is what got the work done, it wouldn’t have been possible without the support system I have sustaining me every day — my family willingly moved me across the country and did everything to ensure that I could focus on school, my friends from home understood I couldn’t be present for all of their celebrations, my friends I made in vet school made everything feel okay when it seemed the tunnel no longer had a light at the end of it, and my partner (or should I say FIANCÉ), Will, continues to be my best friend through it all.

Now as I begin my life’s new adventures, I am proud to serve with Dr Sandigo and grateful for the opportunity to serve your pets.

Dr Danelle Jackson, DVM

I became a veterinarian because of how important veterinary care was to the success of my family's farm. As a child, I loved being able to watch our farm vets work on our cows. A 2013 graduate of the University of Wisconsin - Madison, I bring over 10 years working in small animal veterinary clinics. I am pleased to bring value to Dr. Sandigo’s high quality practice and I love working in Somerton. In my free time I like to travel and camp outside of Yuma’s high heat. My niche in Yuma is to provide local pet owners with the option of at home euthanasia as I know how hard it can be. More information about this service can be found using the link on my photo.
